The Challenge

TechFlow came to us after 18 months of stagnant organic traffic. Their team had published hundreds of blog posts, but rankings had plateaued at page 2-3 for their most valuable keywords. Paid search costs were climbing, and the CMO needed a channel that could scale without proportional cost increases.

Key challenges included:

  • Technical debt from a legacy site migration that left hundreds of broken redirects
  • Content that targeted head terms without satisfying user intent
  • Zero structured backlink strategy — the team relied purely on content quality
  • No conversion optimization on high-traffic blog pages

Our Solution

We began with a 60-point technical audit that uncovered 847 broken internal links, a crawl budget issue caused by faceted navigation, and Core Web Vitals scores in the 30s (mobile). Over weeks 1-4, we resolved every technical issue.

Month 2 focused on content restructuring. We audited all 340 blog posts, identified the top 40 pieces worth investing in, and consolidated the remaining long-tail into pillar content hubs. Each hub was designed to capture informational, navigational, and transactional intent.

Month 3-6 was our link-building sprint. We secured 48 followed backlinks on publications with DR 60+, including features in G2, TechCrunch, and four industry newsletters. We also launched a digital PR campaign around TechFlow's product usage data that generated 23 organic media mentions.

The Results

Nine months after engagement start, TechFlow's organic channel had transformed:

The commercial intent keywords that matter most — the ones their sales team calls "buying keywords" — moved from page 3 average to position 4 average. Organic trial signups grew from 140/month to 520/month, and organic-attributed pipeline grew to $2.4M annually.

The client's paid search budget was reduced by 40% while maintaining the same lead volume, effectively making SEO the highest-ROI channel in their mix.
