The Challenge
Meridian Consulting had been in business for 11 years but struggled to differentiate from dozens of similar boutique strategy firms. Their website looked dated, their messaging was generic ("we help businesses grow"), and they were losing deals to competitors on price — a sure sign of commodity positioning.
The founder wanted to attract larger enterprise clients and move away from competing on hourly rates. But without a clear positioning story, their sales team couldn't articulate why Meridian was worth a premium.
Our Solution
Phase 1: Positioning Workshop (Week 1-3) We ran a two-day positioning workshop with the founding team and five of their best clients. The goal was to surface what made Meridian genuinely different — not aspirationally, but provably. The insight that emerged: Meridian's team came from operations, not consulting. They implemented alongside clients, which meant faster results and lower risk.
The positioning we landed on: "The consultants who stay for the implementation."
Phase 2: Brand Identity (Month 2) We designed a new visual identity — wordmark, color system (deep forest green + gold), typography, and photography style guide. The new look felt established and premium without feeling stiff.
Phase 3: Website & Content (Month 3-5) New website built in Webflow with case study-forward architecture. Every service page led with outcomes and backed claims with real numbers. We developed a content engine: one pillar piece per month on implementation strategy, amplified via LinkedIn.
Phase 4: Sales Enablement (Month 5-6) Pitch deck, proposal templates, and a "credentials kit" — all aligned to the new positioning.
The Results
Within 3 months of launch, Meridian's average deal size grew from $28,000 to $47,000. Enterprise inbound inquiries (companies with 500+ employees) went from 1-2/month to 8-10/month. The website's organic traffic grew 180% as the content engine kicked in.
Twelve months post-launch, Meridian reported 61% revenue growth and had hired 6 additional staff to handle demand.
